Damage Signs
The larvae damage and kill germinating seeds and verysmall seedlings. Affected seedlings may wilt, be abnormally light green, and stunted. Once the stand is established and seedlings have developed a few leaves, seedcorn maggot is unlikely to cause economic damage.
